More on Robertson

For those interested in the Robertson controversy, there is an excellent discussion on the always wonderful Mirror of Justice site. In response to a commenter to my earlier post, Pat Robertson is not a despicable person. He has done more good for more people than I ever will, notwithstanding his often retrograde theological views and the harm that they can cause.

It surprises me that among the many viewpoints, no one has pointed out that the Bible does not talk about God using "natural disasters" as punishment until what is known as the Great Tribulation period. However, Jesus said that earthquakes will be a sign leading up to the great tribulation.

The man is obviously senile. If his family had any sense, family members would get him off the air. It's like when my late aunt couldn't drive without running into things. The family stepped in. If he isn't senile then there is something more sinister at work -- perhaps the hand of the devil?

Beg to differ, Shark, but Robertson is a despicable person. Over the years he has said many hateful things all in the name of religion. You have your opinion, others have theirs.

"He has done more good for people. . ." Like what? All it seems this guy has done is start radio, cable, television shows all in the name of religion. Lots of money pouring into this guy's pockets, but what has he really done to help anyone but himself? "Watch my tv show, pray with me, and of yes, send money".
