Caleb Richard Esenberg

was born last night at 7:11 pm at St. Joe's. He is 20.5 inches and 9 lbs, 2 oz. Here he is with Dad (aka Shark, Jr.)

And with Mom and big brother Aidan

With Aidan and a guy they'll tell him to call Bampa Teeny (don't ask).

And again with Aidan

And with the whole family

Now that I've indulged myself, political name calling and ruminations on the law will continue forthwith.

Congrats to everyone! He's beautiful.

Grandparents are always so proud. The organist at our parish has a grandson a few months younger than our Charley. Every time we see him, he forgos saying "Hi" for whipping out pictures of his grandson, who lives in Utah (or Nevada...can't remember which).

Enjoy this new, wonderful person.

Congratulations to the whole family, what a source of joy and hope for the future.

I'm gonna ask anyway ... what's with Bampa Teeny?

Bampa Teeny is what Aidan calls me which is an evolution from a morning - three years ago - when I fed him full of mini-pancakes that I kept calling "teeny" pancakes. "Bampa" is an approximation of grandpa. Be careful what you say.

But, in my view, the larger issue here is that some of those microwave pancakes in the frozen food aisle are really, really good.

Oh, indeed. Too bad a serving is about 10 and you only get 3 in a box...but they make great breakfast food for little ones.

They do, but I was talking about me.

God bless you and your family Rick.
That is awesome.
Completely awesome.
Children are a gift from God.
(yes the Big Bang theory does come into play here)

I'm thrilled for you, and your son.
Sincerely.
