If it's cold, don't blame me

Using an on-line smug calculator, Patrick McIlheran has calculated that his family produces 22.9 tons of carbon each year. He is a tree-hugging, granola eating, pony tail wearing hippie! My wife and I serve up 61.6 tons per annum. Our house is too big, we fly too much and the Reddess is one of those little women in a big SUV. When it comes to our carbon footprint, we are Sasquatch.

What are we going to do about it?

I'll get back to you.

I'm one of those "little women"? That description reminds me of some guy in a white sleeveless t shirt saying "oh yeah, I got da little woman back at home trained real good". In the future shark, refrain from the use of such degrading verbage. At 5'4", I don't really qualify as "petite" (the cut off is generally under 5'4")...I'm a woman who is on the on the "smaller side".

Obviously I don't have her trained so good.

But I am well trained enough to know that, for reasons that I am sure are socially constructed and all that, when referring to a woman's physical stature, it is best to err on the small side. (Although I did not err.)

The technical name for the shirt in question is a "wifebeater." I don't have one and, as you know, wouldn't last long if I did.

Finally to quote the great philosopher Randy Newman:

Short People are just the same
As you and I
(A Fool Such As I)
All men are brothers
Until the day they die
(It's A Wonderful World)

Shark out.

Hey! What's wrong with granola eating?

I'm pretty sure that "wife-beater" is hyphenated.

People who joke around about this stuff are pathetic. It's going to get hotter in that sand where you have your head.

Anon -If 'global warming' were a proven scientific fact, and proven caused by man's current polution habits, then maybe we would do something. However, since global warming is junk science at best, there is no need to get our undies in a bunch.

My family are mere pikers at 34 tons per year. But they probably don't know that I run my air conditioning all summer long, either.

Hey, if its gonna get hotter, it's good to have a solid AC unit humming along outside your back door!

According to what I learned in my high school physics and chemistry classes about the conservation of matter, my household has never produced any carbon. I'm not really interested in how much carbon might have been transferred from one compound to another.

As for the sleeveless tee-shirt, my son has included in his stand-up comedy act a discussion of how ineffective it is as a tool for beating the wife with.

see I told you the tree huggers would be all upset we have turned their good intentions into a party game lol

86.3 metric tons by the way for my family and we are damn proud of it.
